A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF JEROMESVILLE ESTABLISHING A SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

WHEREAS, § 32.002 (A) of the Jeromesville Municipal Code provides that “The Legislative Authority may provide employees for the municipality as it determines, and employees may be removed at any regular meeting by a majority of the members elected to the Legislative Authority.”; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has determined that establishing an enriching program for young adults in the community will support the mission of the organization and provide much-needed support to Village Staff; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Authority and Mayor have expressed interest in teaching local young adults about the value of service to one’s community;
Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Jeromesville that -
- The position of Student Intern is hereby established.
- The Mayor is directed to hire a Student Intern.
- The Student Intern shall report to the Mayor or his designee.

The Student Intern shall:
- Coordinate summer programs throughout the community.
- Assist in creation and distribution of utility bills.
- Assist in the collection of utility rent debt.
- Assist in project management with village staff.
- Assist in record keeping functions with the Mayor and other administrative personnel.
- Draft grant proposals and investigate grant opportunities at the direction of village staff.
- Liaison with the Junior Council.
- Other assigned duties.
- The Student Intern shall be paid nine dollars ($9.00) per hour with a weekly maximum of thirty (30) hours for the duration of twelve (12) weeks throughout the summer months of May, June, July, and August. Thirty-three percent (33%) shall be drawn from the Water Fund, thirty-three percent (33%) shall be drawn from the Street Fund, and thirty-four percent (34%) shall be drawn from the Wastewater Fund.
