A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF JEROMESVILLE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF PART-TIME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

 

Adopted in Regular Session (6-0) 20 April 2021

WHEREAS, § 32.002 (A) of the Jeromesville Municipal Code provides that “The Legislative Authority may provide employees for the municipality as it determines, and employees may be removed at any regular meeting by a majority of the members elected to the Legislative Authority.”; and

WHEREAS, the Maintenance Supervisor has identified a need for assistance; and

WHEREAS, the Village Administrator has recommended to the Mayor that the Maintenance Supervisor requires additional support to complete maintenance tasks throughout the municipality; 

 

Now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Jeromesville that - 

  1. The position of Maintenance Technician is hereby established and that the duties of the Maintenance Technician are as follows:
    1. The Maintenance Technician shall
      1. Report to and take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor
      2. Perform a variety of custodial activities to maintain facilities and ground within the corporation limits to provide safe and clean conditions for the Village
      3. Assist with general maintenance activities for facilities, furniture, property, and equipment
      4. Operate various light motorized equipment (ex. Lawn mower, snow blower, weed trimmer, floor scrubber & buffer, etc.) to maintain buildings and grounds
      5. Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment, ladders, etc. to maintain, clean, and address minor repairs to facilities
      6. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized training and work area
      7. Assist with performing corrective and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure safety, efficiency, and cleanliness of all facilitiesPromotes and exhibits teamwork with and among staff members to maintain and enhance quality services and support for the Village
      8. All other duties as assigned

   2. The Maintenance Technician will have a set schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, but may work additional hours at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and with approval from the Village Administrator. The Maintenance Technician shall be paid fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour with a weekly maximum of thirty (30) hours. Thirty-three percent (33%) shall be drawn from the Water Fund, thirty-three percent (33%) shall be drawn from the Street Fund, and thirty-four percent (34%) shall be drawn from the Wastewater Fund.
