AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF JEROMESVILLE REGULATING GARBAGE COLLECTION.

Adopted in Regular Session (6-0) 20 April 2021

WHEREAS, the Legislative Authority has received verbal petitions from citizens to address concerns regarding the collection of refuse and garbage inside the municipality; and

WHEREAS, the Legislative Authority has considered the issue and determined that certain parameters should be established for the efficient collection of refuse and garbage inside the municipality; and 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Authority deems it prudent to have an instrument by which to communicate local laws and measures to service providers and customers; 

Now, therefore, be it ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Jeromesville that—

(1) refuse and other garbage shall be collected by service providers only between the hours of seven o’clock in the morning until eight o’clock in the evening;

(2) customers shall not place refuse to be collected in the  treelawn or other collection point any earlier than one day before the contracted scheduled pickup. 

(3) empty refuse containers must be removed from the treelawn or other collection point no later than one day after the contracted scheduled pickup.

(4) whoever violates section (2) or (3) of this measure shall receive, upon their first offense, a written warning and a photocopy of this ordinance.
