Supervisor: Village Administrator

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Village Administrator and is responsible for all groundskeeping, maintenance and custodial duties for the Village of Jeromesville. 

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Perform a variety of custodial activities to maintain facilities and grounds within the corporation limits to ensure safe, clean conditions. This includes seasonal activities such as snow plowing and leaf pickup. 

  2. Perform general maintenance activities for facilities, furniture, property, and equipment. 

  3. Maintain inventory of maintenance, custodial and grounds-keeping supplies and materials as needed. 

  4. Operate various light motorized equipment (i.e. lawn mower, snow blower, weed trimmer, floor scrubber, & buffer) to maintain buildings and grounds. 

  5. Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment, ladders, etc. to maintain and perform cleaning and minor repairs to facilities. 

  6. Ensure that building security is maintained by ensuring doors are open and closed according to schedule, facilities are secured at all times, security systems are in working order and that all opening & closing mechanisms are in proper working order.

  7. Monitor all facilities and systems for problems and repairs as needed or requested and report to appropriate personnel. 

  8. Attend required board, staff, in-service and Council meetings. 

  9. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work area. 

  10. Maintain reports, records and logs as required. 

  11. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure safety, efficiency, and cleanliness of all facilities. 

  12. Assist with inspection of facilities, structures, and mechanical systems for proper maintenance and repair. 

  13. Serve on committees as assigned. 

  14. Promote and exhibit teamwork with and among staff to maintain and enhance quality support and service for the organization. 

  15. All other duties as assigned.
